Mission Week 1: The Curse of Brother Kerr

Hey guys!!!! IM IN CALI! Technically im in Oakland but still! The weather here is so perfect i love it so much!! Ok quick MTC recap:

Tuesday morning a bunch of the elders left which made all the meals SO SAD but we made it through the day! The next morning i woke up at 3 AM to say bye to everyone else and then went back to sleep until my compy had to go🥲 then me and elder torau and elder Scoville made it to the airport and elder Scovilles dad fr happened to be there so he bought us Cafe Rio! It was awesome to have food that wasn't mtc cafeteria. Anyways I miss em all a ton. No one gets the jokes and it's actually so sad!

So we made it and met pres and sis lash! They seem awesome! I met my trainer sister Porter, guys, SHES SO COOL!! I don't mean to brag but her prayers are INSANE! We white washed the area (too both sisters out and put us two in) so we had no idea who was who. More importantly we had no food!!! So we went shopping and cleaned the apartment and that was pretty much my first day! The rest of this week has been lots and lots and lots of phone calls. We haven't had the chance ti go door knocking or public finding yet (lowkey so scared)!

OK now to the subject line. So while we were in the week of zoom mtc, I set up a zoom call for my district because I guess no one else knew how too. Later Brother Kerr needed someone to become host and follow the outline stuff while. He went to a meeting... guess who got volunteered... now fast forward to my new missionary orientation. Sister Porter said not to worry about testimonies or anything like that because they don't make trainees don't their first time. Well I'm just chilling when I hear "and our opening prayer will be sister Merritt" HELLO? ok so I prayed slay go me. Now we go to last night. We had a mission wide zoom with our mission prez and his wife. When I hear... "and our closing prayer will be sister Merritt" important note: there was no other mission wide meeting or anything like that in between. This was the second meeting. And I had prayer both times. So sister Porter starts laughing so I assume she set this up. That's when she tells me that each batch of new missionaries, they kinda just lock in on one. And guess who it was for her batch... HER. Sooo thanks brother Kerr.

Ps have fun getting married!
