Week 1: Provo MTC,

Image
Yep, i have been deemed Sister Kermit! One of my teachers misread my tag and now we're here! My week has been good! I got moved into the actual MTC which I am SO happy about because it means no more zoom classes THANK GOODNESS!! We've had so many great opportunities to hear amazing stories from people and it's been such an amazing experience! OK now to the good stuff. SO Thursday night my roomies and I were getting ready to go to bed. And I left the room and didn't bring the key because I figured that the other three girls wouldn't all leave the room in the short time I was going to the bathroom. I was most definitely wrong. Sister dodds (my comp) left shortly after me and didn't bring her key because she figured one of the other two sisters would be in the room or bring their key. When the other sisters left, they figured that one of us would have a key. Sooooooo yeah we were locked out! When sis dodds and I were about to leave to the office, we noticed 2 VERY ...

Leaving Day!!!

Sister Merritt was dropped off at the MTC today!! We stopped and visited G&G Merritt before we headed to Provo, UT. Becca chose to eat lunch at Chubbys. It was so close to the MTC we saw many missionary families, and missionaries who stopped to talk with her. Drop off was ok. I know we’re all going to miss her. I’m just super excited for Becca. So many adventures, good and learning experiences, ahead for her. She already emailed me asking to mail her the water bottle she forgot… This will be an interesting 18 months!!!

Home MTC: Ready To Grow

Becca will spend the next 10 days doing At Home MTC. She will have to wake up to meet over Zoom with her companion. They will do scripture study and plan the day. After that, they will spend the whole day in classes via Zoom. She says she can't wait to be at the Provo MTC where everything will be in person!

Set Apart As a Missionary For The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Sister Merritt has been set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will start home MTC tomorrow. I’m excited for her and this new adventure she gets to embark on. While President Pehrson was setting her apart, he gave her a blessing with some beautiful gifts and promises. He let her know that she was prepared before she came to share the Gospel and to help others come to know and love Jesus Christ. He counseled her to use her gifts of faith, humility, and the gift of tongues while she meets others from all over the world who would have different languages and perspectives. He promised her wisdom, physical health, her abilities would be magnified, that angels would bear her up, and protection from those who would mean to harm. We are grateful for her choice to serve for 18 months sharing her love for Jesus Christ with others. We wish her growth, learning experiences, and success. We love you Becca!!

One Last Dinner: Sea Food Boil

Image
We have family dinner every week. This was our last dinner before Becca is set apart as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She chose a seafood place in Salt Lake. It was a new experience for all of us. I of course got a Po Boyz chicken sandwich because I don’t do seafood. We love you, Becca!!
